FOI Administration Info

We're waiting for Alex Parsons to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear Chelmsford City Council,

I would like to make an FOI request for the following pieces of information:

1. How many people are employed to deal with FOI?
2. What is the budget for administering FOI?
3. Do you use case management software for FOI? If so, which one?
4. Do you publish a disclosure log?

If not all information is available, please treat questions individually.

Yours faithfully,

Alex Parsons

Information Request,

Dear Alex,

I am sending this email in response to your request reference IR 6334. Please use this reference in any subsequent contact relating to this request.

Response
Please see a response below each of your questions:

1. How many people are employed to deal with FOI?

Two employees are employed by the Council within the Information Governance Team. Part of their role [approximately 50%] is to deal with FOI requests, however they also have other duties. In addition, there are several officers across the Council who are involved in the process as they hold the information and supply it to the Information Governance Team.

2. What is the budget for administering FOI?

There is no specific budget set for administering FOIs. The staff cost within the Information Governance Team to handle FOIs is approximately £30k per annum. In addition to this, there are other officers who are involved in the process. However, as this is done as an extra duty on top of their role, we are unable to provide accurate costs on this.

3. Do you use case management software for FOI? If so, which one?

We have not purchased a specific product to deal with FOIs. We use Microsoft Access and Outlook to handle them.

4. Do you publish a disclosure log?

No, we do not publish a disclosure log.
