FOI Administration Info

We're waiting for Alex Parsons to read recent responses and update the status.

Dear North Ayrshire Council,

I would like to make an FOI request for the following pieces of information:

1. How many people are employed to deal with FOI?
2. What is the budget for administering FOI?
3. Do you use case management software for FOI? If so, which one?
4. Do you publish a disclosure log?

If not all information is available, please treat questions individually.

Yours faithfully,

Alex Parsons

North Ayrshire Council

Dear Alex Parsons

Thank you for your request for information which was received by North
Ayrshire Council.
We have now completed our research for the information and the responses
to your questions are listed below.

Q1. How many people are employed to deal with FOI? ã??

A1. North Ayrshire Council currently employ three full time and one part
time member of staff to centrally deal with FOI/EIR requests, exemptions
and appeals. Managers and coordinators throughout the Services handle and
provide information to answer requests as a small part of their main role.
Occasionally the Legal department are also involved.ã??

Q2. What is the budget for administering FOI? ã??

A2.  North Ayrshire Council do not hold a central budget for all
staff members who are involved in administering FOI as some staff have
other duties included within their roles. The budget is not broken down to
identify how much is allocated for FOI alone. Therefore, this information
is not held under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act
2002. However, to be able to assist and advise you further, I can confirm
the annual budget for the centralised team of four is £76,152. ã??

Q3. Do you use case management software for FOI? If so, which one?

A3. North Ayrshire Council currently use LAGAN which is a customer records
management database to manage FOI/EIR requests.ã??

Q4. Do you publish a disclosure log?

A4. North Ayrshire Council have not published a disclosure log, however,
this is something that we may look to do in the future. ã??
