Freedom of Information Act 2000 - Request for Information
 
I am writing in respect of your recent enquiry for information held by the
Authority under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act.
 
Please find the response to your request below.
 
1. How many people are employed to deal with FOI? FOI requests are dealt
with by the Corporate Information Governance Team in Wakefield Council. 
There is no person employed who is solely dedicated to dealing with FOI,
and all team members deal with various tasks and projects in relation to
data protection and information governance, of which FOI is only one
aspect of the work.  An estimate would be approximately one full time
equivalent post.
 
2. What is the budget for administering FOI? There is no dedicated budget
for administering FOI. An estimate of officer time spent on administering
FOI only, when separated out from all other tasks and functions, would
equate to something in the region of £23,000.00, but this is an
approximation only.
 
3. Do you use case management software for FOI? If so, which one? No.
 
4. Do you publish a disclosure log? A disclosure log is not published, but
information is published in relation to some FOI requests on Data Mill
North, our open data portal, including data relating to Business Rates,
Public Health Funerals and Brownfield Land. Data Mill North also contains
our Transparency Code datasets, including spend items over £500,
contracts, grants, senior salaries and land/buildings assets.
