Thank you for your information request which is being dealt with under the
terms of the relevant legislation.

FOI and EIR requests will be answered within twenty working days. EIR
requests may require an extension of time to 40 working days where the
complexity and volume of the information requested means that it is
impracticable either to comply with the request within the earlier period
or to make a decision to refuse to do so.

GDPR and Data Protection Act - Subject Access Requests will be answered
within 1 month, unless the request is a complex one requiring the Council
to extend the deadline for up to 3 months. Other requests under the DPA

Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) Response

 

Further to our acknowledgement we can now respond to your request for
information dated 26/06/2018 asking about FOI administration.

 

We have dealt with your request in accordance with ‘your right to know’
under section 1(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA), which
entitles you to be provided with a copy of any information ‘held’ by a
public authority, unless an appropriate exemption applies.

 

In your email of 26/06/2018 you asked the following questions:

 

1. How many people are employed to deal with FOI?

1 x Information Governance Officer (FTE 0.81) assisted by full time
Apprentice Legal Records & Information Officer. Both post holders also
deal with requests for information under the Data Protection Act 2018
(DPA). The amount of time spent on FOI varies according to the number and
complexity of requests received and other business needs such as records
management and DPA requests. Additional assistance is provided from other
officers in the legal team to cover busy periods and annual leave.

Trained representatives from service teams within the Council also
directly respond to FOI requests.

 

2. What is the budget for administering FOI?

There is no set budget for dealing with FOI, the cost is met though
existing staff costs. The Council’s budget book is published here:

3. Do you use case management software for FOI? If so, which one?

4. Do you publish a disclosure log?
