Abello ScotRail was the operator of ScotRail services, which are provided under a franchise agreement ^[1] with Transport Scotland (The Scottish Ministers).

ScotRail isn't subject to Freedom of Information, however we've listed them as a body subject to the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations, pursuant to a decision notice issued by the Scottish Information Commissioner ^[2]. We understand that precedent set in the Fish Legal^{[3, 4 ]} case also applies here.

This body became defunct on 1 April 2022, when operation transferred to ScotRail Trains Limited, a publicly owned "operator of last resort"
