Dear Alex Parsons
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - INFORMATION REQUEST
Thank you for your request for information received on 26th June. We have
considered your request and enclose the following information -
1. How many people are employed to deal with FOI?
One full time post deals with FOI in the central team, but also spends
time working on other information governance matters from time to time.
Other Information Governance Officers are involved in some FOI requests as
the need arises.
Across Council Service Areas, other officers are involved in collating
information to respond to FOI requests, undertaking third party
consultations, and identifying any exemptions to be considered by the
Council's Exemption Panel.
Exemption Panel meets once per week and is advised by a senior solicitor
on a rota basis, so there is some time allocated by Legal Services to deal
with FOI requests.
In the event of an appeal, an FOI request will be re-looked at by an
appropriate senior officer, usually a Head of Service, Director or
sometimes the Chief Executive.
2. What is the budget for administering FOI?
There is no budget specifically for administering FOI, as it falls within
the overall Central Services budget which covers information governance,
mail service, typing and records management for the Council.
3. Do you use case management software for FOI? If so, which one?
Internally developed database using Microsoft Access
4. Do you publish a disclosure log?
No
We supply this information based on your original request. If this is not
what you wanted or if you feel we have not fully understood your request
please do not hesitate to contact me to clarify your exact requirements.
