Our reply to your request is:
1. How many people are employed to deal with FOI?
Bristol City Council does not employ officers whose only role is to
deal with FOI’s. There is a Central Team of 14 officers who
administer FOI’s, but they also deal with other case types such as
Complaints, Councillor and MP Enquiries and Subject Access requests.
FOI’s account for approximately 20% of their role. In addition to the
administration of FOI’s, approximately 200 other officers deal with
FOI’s and are responsible for investigating and responding to
requests. As with the Central Team, these officers also have other
roles meaning less than 5% of their time on average would be spent
doing FOI’s. These 200 staff are also in different teams and in
different positions in the overall hierarchy with different pay
grades.
1. What is the budget for administering FOI?
There is no budget for administering FOI’s, as explained in point 1,
FOI’s are handled by staff who have other roles they perform as
employees. As such FOI handling is expected of staff who deal with
them with no additional financial support.
1. Do you use case management software for FOI? If so, which one?
The case management system used by Bristol City Council is called
Salesforce.
1. Do you publish a disclosure log?
We do not currently publish a disclosure log.
