1. How many people are employed to deal with FOI?

Responsibility for compliance with the Act/Regulations rests with each
service. There is a network of information access officers (IAOs) who
manage requests within the services. This is supported by the Corporate
Information Governance Team comprising the Freedom of Information Officer
Corporate Information Governance Manager and Corporate IG Officer in Legal
& Democratic Services who provide guidance, training and information, deal
with cross service vexatious and complex requests, monitor requests
received, and handle complaints and appeals.  They also deal with liaison
with the Information Commissioner.

There are also two other dedicated information governance teams in the
Social Care directorates – Adults Information Governance Team and Child
Info Governance Team.

The three information governance teams also deal with other information
requests, records management and other information governance matters.
