The Church of England are not subject to the Freedom of Information Act 2000

We list the Church of England here as it has certain statutory powers, which in relation to some of its functions give it the character of a public body. For example, "Measures (a form of 'primary' legislation) are passed by the General Synod. If approved by both Houses of Parliament they then receive the Royal Assent and - by virtue of the Church of England Assembly (Powers) Act 1919 (see below) - have the same force and effect as Acts of Parliament;"
