As of 10 May 2021 the Mayor of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority area fulfils the functions of a Police and Crime Commissioner in respect of the area.*

The functions of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) have been taken on by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.
