Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) is an electricity distribution network operator covering the north of the Central Belt of Scotland and also Central Southern England.

SSEN is a trading name of Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution Limited, Scottish Hydro Electric Transmission plc, Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution plc, and Southern Electric Power Distribution plc.

Electricity distributors are not subject to FOI; however, they are required to answer requests made under the Environmental Information Regulations. These rights derive from a judgment in the Fish Legal case and decisions made by the Information Commissioner in respect of an electricity DNO and a gas distributor.
