Prudential Regulation Authority

A regulator, also called PRA

From 1 April 2013, the PRA was the UK’s prudential regulator for banks, building societies, credit unions, insurers and major investment firms.

The Bank of England and Financial Services Act 2016 provides for the Bank of England to become the Prudential Regulation Authority. The date of implementation of the change is to be set by regulations.
