Joint Committee on Surgical Training
An exam board, a professional body and part of the group of medical institutions known as the Royal Colleges, also called JCST
This authority is not subject to FOI law, so is not legally obliged to respond (details).
The JCST is an advisory body to the four surgical Royal Colleges of the UK and Ireland for all matters related to surgical training and works closely with the Surgical Specialty Associations in Great Britain and Ireland. The JCST is the parent body of the Specialty Advisory Committees (SACs) and the Training Interface Groups (TIGs).
This organisation is not subject to FOI but we list it here given its signifiant role relating to regulating access to a profession though its influence on eligibility for entry onto the Specialist Register. Entry onto the Specialist Register is a requirement for a consultant post in the NHS1.
