Independent Monitor, Disclosure and Barring Service
This authority is not subject to FOI law, so is not legally obliged to respond (details).
This body was created by Section 28 of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006 and established in 2012.
One role of the independent monitor is to provide applicants with the right of appeal against the inclusion of approved information on a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced disclosure certificate.
The Independent Monitor may not be formally subject to FOI; we list the body here because we think it ought be.
