On 1 April 2019, Cwm Taf University Health Board changed its name to Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (UHB) as it took responsibility for providing healthcare services for the people in the Bridgend County Borough area. It is also referred to as the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Local Health Board. Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB now provides primary, community, hospital and mental health services to the 450,000 people living in three County Boroughs – Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf..

CTUHB hosts a number of all-Wales services: Welsh Health Specalised Services Commitee (WHSSC) (responsible for the joint planning of tertiary and specialised services across Wales).
