Curo Housing Group

A housing association

This authority is not subject to FOI law, so is not legally obliged to respond (details).

From Curo's website: "Curo is a group of companies that operate in the social and commercial housing market as well as the care and support sector. Until 2012 we were a group of housing associations trading under a number of names under the Somer Housing Group umbrella. The core of the housing association business was constructed from the former Somer Community Housing Trust (SCHT), which was set up in 1999 following the transfer of housing stock from Bath & North East Somerset Council. SCHT was joined in 2002 by Shape Housing Association (formerly Bath Self Help), a specialist provider of supported housing with around 150 bed spaces. Redland Housing Association, which was founded in 1973, became the newest member of the Group in 2005, bringing with it a further 1,400 homes."

Housing Associations are not strictly subject to the Freedom of Information Act but according to the Housing Corporation: "You can also write to housing associations. Most try to be as open as possible and will provide you with information when they are able. The Housing Corporation requires housing associations to be accessible, accountable and transparent to residents and other stakeholders. The National Housing Federation Code of Governance states that associations should operate in an open and accountable manner by generally making information about their work available to their residents, local communities and other stakeholders." Also the Information Commissioner has ruled that Housing Associations are subject to the Environmental Information Regulations.
